Our tribute to Father Damien was touched by so many at the Lei Day Celebration. Join us at our encore performance on July 26th (Sunday) at 3pm- 4pm at the Colorado Dragon Boat Festival as Polynesian Fia Fia and Kalama Polynesian Dancers come together and demonstrate the true meaning of ALOHA while we honor Father Damien of Molokai in ancient kahiko.
Experience a full cast of adult and children dancers, a chant translated by Kumu Chang and Kumu Nakamura from recognized Hula Halaus in Hawaii, and talented musicians showcasing their beautiful songs as we translate in dance.
The two groups coming together and dancing together shows how the aloha spirit is still filled in the hearts of many. Two groups can combine and showcase their individual talent and group talent and not be threatened by one another. This is one of the reasons why our Lei Day Celebration was so special to our groups and our guests.
See you at the Dragon Boat 2009!
